The environment is all around you. It is the land you work and live on, the food you eat, the air you breathe, the water you drink. Many people in South Africa live in places that are polluted in some way. Air and water pollution can affect you. So can living near a landfill site, or in an area where erosion can cause flash floods. Even if you live in a ‘clean’ area, you can't escape pollution or the effects of drought, flooding or global warming.
Whether you take small steps like not littering, recycling at home and conserving energy, or you want to get involved in actively working to save our environment, everyone can do their bit to make the world a safer and healthier place.
